Despite some design flaws, this dart-simulation game makes a good tool for strengthening hand-eye-coordination skills. 3-in-a-bed lets you play several variations of dart games, including 301, 501, and 1001. As in other dart-simulation programs, this one gives you a first-person view of the dartboard from the oche. Unfortunately, the board is much smaller than it should be, and the numbers are tough to read, which makes correctly aiming your dart an even more daunting task than it is by default.
It takes a while to get the hang of tossing darts by clicking the mouse, meaning that it's initially tough to beat the computerized opponents, even on the easy difficulty setting.

All boards are public, with no privacy options whatsoever. You can follow other users and the boards they collect. Your home screen shows new pins that you or people you follow have recently added.
And the site parses content by theme so that you can always search or browse images that relate to your interests at the moment.
In the Pinterest iPhone app, the bottom menu bar has icons for home, search, add a pin, activity (e.notifications when another user re-pins one of your pins or starts following you), and profile.
When scrolling along the home screen, the bottom menu bar and top header (it's the Pinterest logo, and a back button when applicable) disappear. They reappear when you 2011, or move the page back up. In this way, you can toggle the top and bottom banners on and off.
It's a simple but nice effect. Little things are awry in functionality, though.
You can't rearrange the order of pins on a board, although the same limitation exists on the Pinterest website, too. You can't change the cover of a board from the app, which is something you can do in the Web version.
Pressing the add button gives you the option to take a photo on the spot to upload, or open a built-in browser to find your next pin online, but when you pin from a URL, the app never prompts you to add a caption or comment. For example, when I tested this feature, I pinned a recipe from a website, and Pinterest automatically entered a caption that had the name of the site and the headline of the page.
I assumed I would have the ability to customize that text, just as I would have if I had been using the Pinterest website instead of the mobile app.
Pinterest for Leisure The Pinterest iPhone app looks lovely and moves with speed, but I'd like to see the development team over at Pinterest focus a bit more on functionality.
Obvious capabilities are missing that hold the app back from being more than just a leisurely way to browse pretty pictures.
When I need to keep serious visual notes on my iPhone, I still use Evernote's iPhone app, an Editors' Choice, which can replicate an experience akin to having a private Pinterest account when used in conjunction with the Evernote Web Clipper.
Another option is Springpad, which is slightly different from Pinterest and in my eyes, less polished and more cluttered, but with more features.
"Second-screen" apps have become the all the rage in the tech industrywhether they deserve the buzz or not.
Second-screen apps, for those who don't follow the minutiae of the consumer tech world, are programs, often mobile, that supply users with supplemental information such as song lyrics or artist bios (when listening to music), cast and crew information (when viewing TV shows and movies), and social media integration to connect with other entertainment seekers.

Zeebox isn't without issue; it crashed a few times and suffered occasionally slow performance in my testing.

After choosing Verizon FiOS New York Plus, and HD preferences (optional features that list HD channels and highlight Spanish language channels), I inputted my Facebook and Twitter credentials to find friends who also use the service.
I could chat with my friends via the in-app messaging system.
Zeebox then prompted me to join TV Rooms, themed areas where you can chat with others. There's a lot of variety, but also a lot of duplicates; I counted five TV Rooms dedicated to the Miss USA pageant. That theoretically gives you the option to 21 more a room with a vibe you like, but I personally saw it as clutter.
Each room has a member count to let you know how many 2011 active participants there are in each room.
After I selected a few TV Rooms, Zeebox took me to its default home screen: TV Picks. It's one of Zeebox's four tabbed screens which also include Guide, TV Rooms, and Activity.

At 11:37AM on a Monday morning, it accurately displayed the listings for The Price Is Right, The 2001, and other early, pre-noon programming.
Zeebox also highlights the most popular shows, those with the biggest social media buzz (Disney's Shake It Up led the time slot with 59 related tweets per minute), featured programming (Doctor Oz), and shows that celebrities are tweeting about.
Speaking of Twitter, the TV Picks feed even displays quirky, funny, or informative tweets about a particular show.
